Look, we get it - nobody reads these things, but we're trying to be straight-up honest about what we do with your info
Last updated: October 23, 2025So here's the thing - when you come to us for windshield work or any glass repair, we need to collect some info about you. Nothing sketchy, just the basics to do our job right and keep things running smooth.
We're Luminar Shard Forge, operating outta Toronto at 2847 Dundas Street West, and we've been fixing glass on Canadian roads for a while now. Your trust matters to us, so we're laying it all out here - what we collect, why we need it, and what we do with it.
This policy covers our physical shop, our website, and our mobile service too. If you're dealing with us in any way, this applies.
Name, phone number, email - the usual. We need this to call you when your windshield's ready or if we gotta reschedule. Also your address if you're booking our mobile service, 'cause we kinda need to know where to show up.
Make, model, year, VIN - this isn't us being nosy, it's so we order the right glass. Nothing worse than getting the wrong windshield delivered and having to wait another week.
If you're going through insurance, we'll need your policy number and provider details. We deal with the paperwork so you don't have to sit on hold for two hours.
Credit card info, but we don't actually store this ourselves - it goes through our payment processor who handles all that encrypted security stuff way better than we could.
Cookies and analytics - yeah, we track what pages you visit and how you found us. Helps us figure out if our website's actually useful or just confusing.
Our website uses SSL encryption - that's the little lock icon in your browser. Credit card data gets tokenized through our payment processor, so we never actually see the full numbers.
Physical records at our shop are locked up when we're closed. Our computer systems have password protection and we limit who on our team can access what.
Look, we're not a tech giant with unlimited security budgets, but we take reasonable precautions. If there's ever a data breach (knock on wood), we'll notify you right away as required by Canadian law.
We keep customer records for about 7 years - that's partly for warranty purposes and partly for tax/accounting requirements. After that, we purge old files unless there's a specific reason to keep 'em longer.
If you specifically ask us to delete your data, we'll do it unless we legally have to keep it (like for ongoing warranty work or if there's an insurance claim still being processed).
Marketing emails? You'll stay on that list until you unsubscribe. There's always an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and provincial stuff), you can:
To exercise any of these rights, just email us at info@luminarshardforge.info or call (416) 555-0847. We'll handle it within 30 days.
Sometimes we link to other websites - like if we're recommending a particular product or referring you to an insurance company's claims portal. Once you click those links, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply, not ours.
We try to only link to reputable sites, but we can't control what they do with your data once you're there.
Our services aren't aimed at kids under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you're a parent and think your kid submitted info to us somehow, give us a shout and we'll delete it.
We might update this policy occasionally - like if laws change or we add new services. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here.
For major changes that affect how we use your data, we'll try to notify you directly via email. But honestly, it's worth checking back here once in a while if you care about this stuff.
If you've got questions about this privacy policy or how we're handling your data, don't hesitate to reach out:
Email: info@luminarshardforge.info
Phone: (416) 555-0847
Mail: 2847 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON M6P 1Y6, Canada
We'll get back to you within a few business days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you've got the right to contact the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We collect what we need to fix your glass and run our business. We don't sell your data. We keep it secure. You can ask to see it or delete it anytime. Pretty straightforward. If you've got concerns, we're just a phone call away.
